Diderot (oct 5, 1713 – jul 31, 1784)

Description:

Denis Diderot was a radical French philosophe. He compiled encyclopedias, and most of his contributions to Enlightened thought were through collecting other people's writings rather than writing himself. He supported the democratization of knowledge to instill societal transformation.

Diderot was staunchly anti-religion, stating, "Nothing good can come from religion."

He criticized monogamy and chastity as "unreasonable."
