Vesalius (dec 31, 1514 – oct 15, 1564)

Description:

Vesalius was a physician who started dissecting human bodies and therefore had a much more sophisticated understanding of human anatomy than Galen, who had dissected animals. He still believed that there were two systems of blood, but he realized that blood circulation originated at the heart and not the liver.
