DIGITAL ERA (jan 1, 1950 – jan 1, 2014)
Description:
As the price for computers lowered, and the social pressure to have students use digital tools increased, schools began to focus on their student-to-computer ratio – how many students they had on each computer. The desired ratio was one-to-one.
Where it was possible, schools and school departments would invest in one-to-one device programs. The first of these programs was in Australia, down in Victoria, in 1994. The latest version of this in Australia was the Digital Education Revolution (2007-2014).
