Hitler's Appeasement >>> ending with German invasion of Poland (mar 12, 1938 – sep 9, 1939)

Description:

Appeasement refers to a tactic in which world leaders allow for another country's leader to have what they want to avoid global conflict. Adolf Hitler was considered a threat during this period, and British prime-minister Neville Chamberlain did not want to aggravate the situation and would do anything to avoid another war. Hitler wanted to annex Austria, and so he took it with no resistance. He then demanded the rights to the Sudetenland, a German-speaking region of Czechoslovakia, and Chamberlain - without the consent of Czechoslovakia - granted Hitler permission to do so as long as he did not invade the rest of the country. Not long after, Hitler went on to invade all of Czechoslovakia, proving appeasement to be quite useless. No action was taken until Germany and the Soviet Union launched a massive attack on Poland, marking the beginning of WWII as Britain and France declared war on Germany.
