On the 19th of January 1900, The first case of the Bubonic Plague in Australia was confirmed. The Bubonic Plague is caused by Yersinia pestis which is a flea. The Bubonic Plague is caused if a flea that is carrying the plague bacterium bites you. 1371 cases were reported with 535 deaths across Australia. The last case was reported in 1910.
