Joan of Arc (jan 1, 1412 – jan 1, 1431)

Description:

A peasant from Domremy in Lorraine in eastern France. Joan went to Charles VII declaring that the King of Heaven had called to deliver the besieged city of Orleans from the English. Charles accepts because he was already in a hopeless situation. Due to perfect circumstances, Joan won the battle because of her ability to give her soldiers a proud and enraged sense of national identity. However, Charles VII forgot about her and she was executed by the English. 25 years later, harles reopened the case and she was declared innocent. Eventually by the Pope in 1920, she was declared a saint.
