Iran Hostage Crisi (nov 4, 1979 – jan 20, 1981)
Description:
Began on November 4, 1979 when Iranian students stormed the U.S. Embassy in Iran, and took more than 60 Americans hostage. The Americans were held captive for 444 throughout Carter's presidency. The crisis began due to U.S. interference in Iranian domestic affairs, specifically the coup against their elected leader in favor of a U.S. chosen official. Carter pushed for many failed rescue operations. The hostages were released immediately after Reagan was sworn into office.
