Angola Civil War (jan 1, 1975 – sep 24, 2001)
Description:
The start of the Angolan civil war began with the Three factions - MPLA led by Neto, FNLA led by Roberto, and UNITA led by Savimbi. They began fighting against each other rather than forming a coalition government which was suggested by Kaunda. The US got involved in the conflict because the MPLA was a socialist faction and thus the US was determined to see either UNITA or FNLA in power.
