Relationship between Churches and State weakened (jan 1, 1935 – sep 1, 1945)
Description:
- The state, despite the concordat, tried to undermine the church, such as closing church schools and youth groups, arrest and accusations against pastors/priests and other religious leaders
- There were protesters and opposition against the Nazi party due to this. The pope attacked the Nazi system publicly
- Nazis attempted to promote their own religion, the German Faith Movement, with had old German pagan beliefs
