German appeasement (jan 1, 1935 – mar 15, 1939)

Description:

Instituted to avoid war, German appeasement was caused by the fear of Britain and France of another war. Another cause was Britain and France giving Hitler what he wanted to keep the peace. They thought another war would destroy civilization and they thought that Hitler’s complaints seemed reasonable. An effect of this was Britain gaining a year to build their forces as well as Germany. Czechoslovakia became weakened after Hitler attacked and war broke out after the appeasement ended.
