- Large unemployment

- Lira inflated

- Grain prices collapsed (farmers impacted)

- In consequence, raw material allocation was done by the government
- There was also larger governmental control of industry

- Public work programs introduced to revive the economy and lower unemployment

- Italy avoided the social and political unrest that the great depression caused in other countries
