Generation X (jan 1, 1969 – jan 1, 1975)
Description:
During this time period, one of the most important computing developments was created. This we call the internet. In 1969, ARPANET was created. This was the earliest form of the internet and it allowed communicate and share information with scientists. Later in 1974 to 1977, Apple created the first personal computers. It was a desk top called Apple I and it was popular because it had a graphical user interface and a mouse. Then, in 1975 Bill Gates came out with Microsoft. This allowed people to be able to have a computer in their houses. During this period, people communicated through email, Microsoft, instant messaging, and and ARPANET. They also used ARPANET, instant messaging, emails and newspapers to gain knowledge. Generations X interacted with one another by concerts, TV shows, computer games, and music devices.
