Silent Generation (jan 1, 1936 – jan 1, 1940)

Description:

In the Silent Generation, there were very little forms of technology. However, the computing game began to change in 1936 when the first freely programmable computer came into play. This computer was called the Z1 and had little programmability and reading intructions from punched celluloid film. Since this time period did not have pretty much any technology, people communicated by face to face conversations, letters, phones, and telegraphs. They interacted by meeting down town for a night at a speak easy, they would go to plays, watch movies, and dinner parties at ones house. This generations main way of gaining technology was through books, newspapers, the radio, and magazines.
