King David (jan 1, 1041 BC – jan 1, 970 BC)

Description:

David was the third king of Israel, he became king after Saul's son was removed. Saul was fond of David since he killed the enemy champion Goliath. After awhile, Saul turned on David. This resulted in his death alongside his son Jonathan, making David king. David was 30 years old when he began to reign and he reigned 40 years. He also manages to conquer over Jerusalem.
Although David was a fine king, he committed adultery and God denies David the opportunity to build the temple. After this, David's son Absolm tries to turn on him and overthrow David. Fear of his safety, he fled and came back once Absolm died. David continued to rule as a peaceful king.
David is believed to have written the book of Psalms in the Old Testament.
