The Rape of Nanking (dec 13, 1937 – jan 1, 1938)

Description:

The Rape of Nanking was a tragic period of time where there was a mass murder and mass raping from the Japanese troops to the Nanjing citizens. The reason of why the Rape of Nanking occurred was that the Japanese wanted Nanking to be completely destroyed. Most of the city was destroyed and Japan massacred an additional 50,000 male civilians and raped at least 20,000 women and girls of all ages, many of whom were mutilated or killed in the process. To this day China still denies that they did this. The two effects from this was the massive amount of torture done to the innocent people of Nanking and that their city had been destroyed not only by bombs but by the amount of assault committed during this time.
