The Battle of Stalingrad was fought between the Soviet Union and Germany from July 17, 1942 until February 2, 1943. In this battle, the Soviet Union was able to successfully defend the city of Stalingrad from German troops and this event showed the start WWII taking a turn in favor of the Allies.
