Description:
In 1917 the National Hockey league is formed from the ashes of the NHA. The first four teams were the Montreal Canadiens, the Montreal Wanderers, the Toronto Arenas and the Ottowa Senators. The era known as “Original Six” did not actually start until during WW2. The First American team in the NHL was the Boston Bruins, who won their first hockey game in 1924. Out of all the leagues that were formed this was the one that survived to become the multi-million dollar league we know and love today.
