Invasion of Northern France. British, American, and Canadian troops were sent to beaches of Normandy, they were codenamed Juno, Sword, Gold, Omaha, and Utah. Largest amphibious invasion. By end of August, Paris had been liberated, by the end of September Belgium and France, in October they captured their first German town.
