Reign of Akbar I (oct 15, 1542 – oct 27, 1605)
Description:
The grandson of Babur, Akbar I played a key role in the building of the Mughal Empire. He created a centralized government with regional representatives, and greatly expanded Mughal territory. This includes his defeat and annexation of the kingdom of Vijayanagar and his advances into southern India.
