Native American Time Period (jan 1, 1000 – jan 1, 1600)

Description:

Summary
Before European colonization, there were many tribes of Native Americans. The tribes' cultures can be group between geographical areas of America. The Native Americans had a rich culture consisting of their own religions and ceremonies.

Social/Cultural Event
Native American Literature was given through storytelling. They used sacred numbers in repetition and rhythm. Stories typically had a protagonist, supernatural forces, and sometimes a moral. The plot varied between storytellers and changed a little bit over a time. The stories weren't written down because it would lose all of the storyteller elements. The stories would lose their meaning and become difficult to understand.

Note
The start year 1000 is arbitrary. Native Americans likely lived in America before the year 1000. The year 1000 was chosen to keep the timeline from becoming unecessarily long for the project's constraints.
