Reign of Ismail I (jan 1, 1501 – may 23, 1524)
Description:
As a mere child, Ismail I seized power and founded the Safavid Dynasty, one of the three powerful Islamic empires of the Early Modern Era. He proceeded to conquer and annex many territories into the empire and imposed a new religion onto the land: Twelver Shiism. He was such a respected ruler he was often thought of as the reappeared twelfth imam or even an incarnation of Allah.
