FT. MCHENRY (sep 12, 1814 – sep 15, 1814)
Description:
Fort McHenry is located in Baltimore, Maryland. This American Fort was bombarded along with Washington D.C. and burned by the British. Even though the city was burned, the US soldiers did stop the British from invading. This event gave Francis Scott Key the urge to write “The Star Spangled Banner” which is nowadays known as the national anthem.Added to timeline:
