WAR OF 1812 (jun 18, 1812 – feb 18, 1815)

Description:

This war began for four reasons. The reasons included the violation of the Freedom of the Seas by Britain, the impressment of US sailors, the desire to control the territory of Canada, and the territory of Florida. The war was made up of a few key battles such as the surprise battle of New Orleans, which resulted in a American victory and occured after the war was over, and the bombardment of Fort McHenry. The war concluded with the Treaty of Ghent, which did not solve any of the initial reasons for the war.
