Nanjing Massacre (jan 27, 1937 – dec 13, 1937)
Description:
It was a mass murder/rape of the citizens of Nanjing. It was committed by the imperial Japanese troops against (at the time) the Chinese capital. It lasted around 6 weeks with between 20,000 and 80,000 women of Nanjing were sexually assaulted by the soldiers. 200,000 to 300,000 people were killed during the tragedy.
Causes
1 - They captured the capital for its natural resources.
2 - After Japan took the capital, they wanted to hurt China in a way that they would never forget.
Effects
1 - More than 200,000 people were killed.
2 - 20 to 80,000 women were assaulted sexually.
