Description:

Beer Hall Putsch occurred from the 8-9th of November 1923. It was a (failed) attempt by Hitler to take over the government. It ended with Hitler accused of treason and sentenced to 5 years behind bars (although he only served less than a year).

CAUSES & EFFECTS
CAUSE 1- widespread discontent
CAUSE 2- hyperinflation, post-war Germany

EFFECT 1- Hitler's popularity boon. His trial brought him both attention and popularity which he used to give speeches, preaching about post-war Germany and who was to blame.
EFFECT 2- WWII. Hitler's rise in publicity led to his gaining a major following which eventually allowed him to take over Germany.
