Beginning of the californian gold rush (jan 24, 1848 – jan 24, 1857)

Description:

Following James W. Marshall's discovery of gold, everyone rushed through to take a piece of the pie.

The gold rush included 300,000 prospectors from various neighbouring countries and nations who cam to test their luck in the fields.

It was this which made panning famous, it used to be able to simply be dug from the ground, but then it was taken from the rivers via panning, it ended when the gold reserves were thinned out.
