German Appeasement (sep 3, 1939 – sep 3, 1939)
Description:
Description: The German appeasement was when Britain allowed Hitler to expand the German territory unchecked.
Cause 1: They did this appeasement because it was another what they thought was another way to prevent further conflict between the nations.
Cause 2: Hitler wanted to expand Germany and he had many complaints at the time. Especially about the Treaty of Versailles. Germany also wanted to be stronger so they could defend themselves against Russia.
Effect 1: The appeasement never ended up preventing the war and conflict that came afterward. Nothing could stop Hitler and his destructive ways and soon enough WW2 was inevitable.
Effect 2: Even though the goal of the appeasement was to bring peace, it really just gave Germany more freedom to prepare for the inevitable war.
