Description: The Weimar Republic was Germanys government from the end of world war 1 all the way through to world war 2, so the rise of the Nazi Germany. The republic was like a designation for the German state.
Cause 1: The purpose of the Weimar Republic was to give genuine power to all German adults. Its aim was to give more freedom to the people in Germany. It granted people the right to free speech, adults the right to vote, the right to any religion and equality.
Cause 2: They also wanted it to be established as a representative democracy which they thought was a better way of controlling Germany.
Effect 1: The Weimar had a large amount of weaknesses and all these weaknesses it had eventually led it to fail. One being that the government itself didn’t run very smoothly and led it to failing which led to the whole state failing.
Effect 2: The Weimar republic also was a big part of helping Hitler rising to power. Hitler was able to gain a large number of seats in one of the government parities to make him a political player. The conservatives came and capitalized on his popularity which brought him into the government.
