The Civil war was started by the Confederates states of America. The first attack that triggered the start of the war was when the Confederate States of America bombarded a major U.S Military Base, Fort Summer.
The civil war was important because it ended the institution of slavery and brought the country together. This was a high point in America's history, but to get there, over 625,000 soldiers lost their lives in action.
The confederate states of America was started by the states South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas because they relied heavily on agriculture and a plantation systems.
