LEAGUE OF NATIONS (jan 10, 1920 – apr 20, 1946)

Description:

The league of Nations was an international group, made after WWI, with the sole purpose of discussing and solving disputes between countries before they developed into open warfare. The league was conceived at he Paris Peace Conference. Great Britain, France, Japan, and Italy were all the primary four members of the League of Nations. By 1920 they had 48 members.
The league of Nations was consistently criticized for not being harsh enough on countries, such as Russia invading Persia, the league believed that Russia would not take responsibility for its actions, and would damage the Leagues authority.
Germany was consistently not reprimanded when accused if invading other countries. Europe and the League were accused of being overly generous to Hitler during his rise, when he was invading other countries. The same could be said for Mussolini, who was not punished timely for his war crimes. They are said to have contributed to Hitlers easy rise of power.
They ceased all operations during WWII.
