GERMAN-SOVIET UNION NON AGRESSION PACT (aug 23, 1939 – jun 2, 1941)

Description:

On August 23, 1939–shortly before World War II broke out in Europe, typical enemies Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union surprised the world by signing the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, in which the two countries agreed to not take military action against each other for the next decade. Both parties had things to gain from this pact, (Germany's plan to invade Poland uninterrupted, and for the USSR to build up their military in peace) and included was an agreement on how both parties would divide Eastern Europe later.
This pact came to an end in June 1941 when Germany invaded the Soviet Union. This would later lead to the downfall of Nazi Germany.
