the great depresion (aug 18, 1929 – mar 18, 1933)

Description:

The great depression was the worst economic downfall in the history of the industrialized world. This major event was catastrophic for many people, mainly civilians. The cause of the great depression was the stock markets were really popular in the 1920's, so everyone from millionaires to poor people were putting all of their money into the stock markets. That caused the stock to rapidly expand known as the "roaring twenties". The stock market (which was placed in wall street) was in a state of panic worrying about the stock market crashing, which it did. It did this because the amount of money being put in was greater than what the stock was worth, so there were many factories were having people without jobs and more and more people were applying for loans so they could buy food but the banks didn't have the money for it. As of that the stock markets did crash and that turned into the great depression.
