Beer Hall Putsch (nov 8, 1923 – dec 9, 1923)

Description:

The Beer Hall Putsch occurred November 8, 1923 when Adolf Hitler and his Nazis along with General Erich Ludendorff and his conservative nationalists tried to gain power in Munich

CAUSES
In an attempt to take over the German government (the German government was the Weimar Republic at the time) Adolf Hitler and Ludendorff's ambition to take over more of Germany created the Beer Hall Putsch and this lasted about a day.

Hitler became powerful and the Great Depression promoted giving allegiance to a powerful leader which lead to the Weimar Republic and the Great Depression being to blame.

EFFECTS
Many people perceived Hitler as being cowardly because he snuck away when the German police arrived and started shooting.

Hitler decided that an aggressive armed revolution was not the best way to earn power and status in Weimar Germany so he decided to change the way he would obtain power.
