Description:
The Weimar republic was the governing body of Germany from 1919 to 1933. It was named after the German town Weimar, because that is where the government was formed by a national assembly. The republic was caused by the end of WW1 after the Nazi party had fallen. Many uprisings and lots of unrest was caused in Germany by the Weimar republic coming into power because they were unpopular after signing the treaty of Versailles. - (BBC Bitesize, 2020)
