Mussolini becomes leader of Italy (apr 1, 1922 – apr 1, 1943)
Description:
Mussolini was the leader of the Fascist party and became prime minister of Italy in 1922. This happened after he split from the Socialist party. He had a big effect around the world and had built a name for himself as someone who liked to cause trouble and had different opinions to the average person. In 1937 he took Italy out of the league of nations to team up alongside German leader Hitler for War. They were known as the Rome-Berlin Axis. This had a very positive effect for Germany because now they had secured help and safety in the south of the country.
