Great Depression (aug 1, 1929 – mar 1, 1933)
Description:
The great depression was a severely bad economic fall and had impacts worldwide. In fact it is believed to be the biggest economic downfall since the start of the industrialised world. In places like America their was up to 15 million people unemployed. People were starving everywhere and farmers couldn't even afford to harvest their crops and had to leave them to rot. This created a horrible cycle within the economy. Europe was no different with countries like Germany, Austria and Poland amongst the worst hit with unemployment rates going up 20%. Germany also had the problem of having to pay of reparations for the war so they had a particularly hard time.
