Beer Hall Putsch (nov 8, 1923 – nov 9, 1923)
Description:
Beer Hall Putsch was an organization that was created by Adolf Hitler. It started when Hitler wanted to rise his power. The Bürgerbräukeller was where Adolf Hitler launched the Beer Hall Putsch on November the 8th 1923, the attempted takeover in Munich with 3,000 supporters on Hitlers side. He had initially approached von Kahr to lead the march on Berlin. But the plan was to kidnap von Kahr the state commissioner of Bavaria, and two other conservative politicians. But when von Kahr began to back away from the plan, Hitler didn’t listen and kept going. It was a failed takeover in Munich, Germany between the evening of 8 November and the morning of 9 November 1923. Ludnedorff was arrested and Hitler was later arrested, even though he had managed to escape. A court case was held, where Hitler had a platform to preach his ideas. Hitler was charged with high treason for 5 years. Throughout the Beer Hall Putsch 16 Nazis and 4 police officers died in a gunfight. The Beer Hall Putsch had several significant consequences. First, it led to a split between Hitler and Ludendorff; the general thought Hitler a coward for sneaking away after the police had begun to fire. Second, Hitler decided that armed revolution was not the way to obtain power in Weimar Germany.
