Rosa parks and the montgomery bus boycott (dec 1, 1955 – dec 20, 1956)
Description:
on december 1st, 1955, rosa parks refuses to give up her seat to a white man, as it is normal for black/african american citizens to give their seat up if a white person cant find a seat. rosa refusing to give up her seat resulted in her arrest, that made people angry, so they decided to boycott busses and protest on the streets. The protests were lead by Dr. Martin luther king
and went on for an entire year, until the supreme court ruled that segregation on the bus was unconstitutional.
