Chinese Revolution: (jan 1, 1946 – oct 1, 1949)
Description:
Before World War II, the Nationalists and Communists leaders in China were having a civil war. While the two joined forces for World War II, the civil war resumed after the war. The United States supported the Nationalists led by Jian Jieshi and the Soviet Union supported Mao Zedong. Jiang's and his party was corrupt, using the aid from the U.S. for personal needs even while the people in their country were starving. By promising to feed the public, Mao Zedong won support and in 1948, his troops dominated the war. When Jian looked to the U.S. for military intervention, he was turned away due to his corruption and China soon fell to Communism on October 1, 1949 becoming the People's Republic of China.
