Description:
The Gulf War was the result of an invasion by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, who tried to seize Kuwait in August 1990. Iraq's leader, Saddam Hussein, ordered Kuwait to be invaded and occupied with the apparent purpose of acquiring the large oil reserves of that country, canceling Iraq's large debt owed to Kuwait, and increasing Iraqi influence in that region.Added to timeline:
