General Douglas MacArthur Fired (nov 25, 1950 – apr 11, 1951)
Description:
When MacArthur was enraged about the attack from the Chinese at the Yalu River, he wanted to act aggressively and bomb the communist nation. But when President Truman said he did not want to act aggressively, rather follow his limited war policy, MacArthur was not happy. Being a soldier, he wanted to have total victory, unlike Truman, who wanted containment. MacArthur sent a letter to the House Republican leader attacking Truman's policy, which led to Truman dismissing MacArthur for insubordation.
