Description:

Overall, this war was very bloody, but it did have a very important long-term result. Truman set the example that many presidents after would follow (Truman committed the troops to fight, without a clear start of the war.) This war also lead to an increase in military spending and a new alliance formation. The Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) was created to defend against communism.
