US and South Korean troops halt at Pusan (jul 1, 1950 – jul 31, 1950)

Description:

Instead of asking congress for a formal declaration of war, and with the support of the UN resolution. Truman sent troops that were stationed in Japan to help in Korea. These troops met up with the South Koreans during their retreat to the southeast corner near the city of Pusan. Other UN forces and supplies soon joined them in Pusan.
