Murcia was vassal of Alfonso X but revolted.
James I retook it for Alfonso in 1266.
Ibn al-Ahmar negotiated peace and vassalage status with Alfonso in June 1267.
Burns says 'sobered' Alfonso's Africa crusade ambitions, and brought James and Alfonso closer. See p. 72 in Jews, Muslims and Christians In and Around Aragon... (ed. Hames).
