The Chinese Revolution and intervention (sep 1, 1948 – nov 25, 1950)
Description:
Before Japan invaded china in 1937, Their nationalist leader Jiang Jieshi began fighting a civil war against communists led by Mao Zedong. Mao had a temporary alliance with Jiang to fight Japan. The Communists eventually won China and was renamed the People's Republic of China. During the Korean war Truman was worried about China's intervention with the war after their warnings. However MacArthur assured Truman that China would not intervene. However, 300,000 Chinese soldiers attacked them in South Korea.
