First Crusade (jan 1, 1096 – jan 1, 1099)
Description:
Culture - Pope Urban announced the crusades in 1095 at the Council of Clermont. Shortly after, military expeditions to the holy land were organized by nobles. They made their way to Palestine in 1096 and was able to capture Edessa, Antioch, and other cities. Because of their success, the Turks, Egyptians, and other Muslims are able to settle their differences to get rid of the Christians from the Mediterranean.
