Ada Lovelace (dec 10, 1815 – nov 27, 1852)

Description:

Ada Lovelace was one of the founders of modern computing.
REASONS WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:
1) Ada served as something of an apprentice to Charles Babbage during his creation of the Difference Engine.
2) Ada translated Babbage's work so that more people could read it, adding many of her own insights as well.
3) Ada wrote her theories of how the Difference Machine could be used to print letters along with numbers, in a way making her the first computer programmer.
