An Lushan's Rebellion (jan 1, 755 – jan 1, 757)

Description:

Political - As one of the foremost military commanders, An Lushan initiated a rebellion and captured the capital at Chang'an as well as the secondary capital at Luoyang. He was murdered by a soldier in 757, and his army was suppressed by the Tang military in 763. The rebellion left China in a debilitated state. Because the Tang military wasn't strong enough to overthrow the rebellion, they asked the Uighurs, nomadic Turkish people, for help. The Turkish people sacked Chang'an and Luoyang after their services.
