Irish War of Independence (jan 21, 1919 – jul 11, 1921)
Description:
This war was a guerrilla war fought by the IRA against British security forces in Ireland in which over 1400 people were killed. This war marked the escalation of the Irish revolutionary period into warfare. The outcome was a ceasefire and the Anglo-Irish treaty being negotiated. The treaty allowed Ireland to leave the Free State and create one of their own, and also led to the Irish Civil War.
