Mary cover jones (sep 1, 1897 – jul 22, 1987)
Description:
Mary Jones became known as "The mother of behavior therapy". In her early work she worked on the uncoditioning of the fear reaction in infants, which was desensitization. Her most successful procedure was "direct conditioning", where she would give a pleasant stimulus the same time as when the unpleasant stimulus was presented. Over time the unpleasant stimulus would not affect the person that much.
